Some Cayley

I’ve given some more thought to the whole, ” a lot less photos of the second child” thing, and I have come to the conclusion that part of it is that the older child tends to actually be DOING stuff that is interesting and as cute as the new addition is… they’re sort of just lying there… ummm, how do I say it… not doing anything.

Sorry, I will get to the point. I was feeling a bit sorry for Cayley and the lack of photos… again. So I took some.

Melbourne continued

Well, I thought I’d better get back to finishing off the Melbourne stuff… so here’s another day.

Scienceworks. We didn’t end up doing much of it but what we did Elisha loved. They have a section upstairs for smaller children and this is where we spent our time. It was great. Elisha was allowed to touch any and everything there. Just what he needed after quite a few days of being very restricted in what he was allowed to do.

Here are a few of the photos that are worth sharing.

This pole has a bright yellow button at the top of it, and the button was to power up the digger (see next photo). The digger was quite overrun with older school boys – older as in older than Elisha – and Elisha was quite happy to just watch them and press the button over and over and over. Depending on who was driving the digger at the time Elisha was either ignored or told to go away because the driver felt it was his fault that they weren’t doing much good at digging.

Finally Elisha got to have a go on the digger, and oh what fun he had. He was most reluctant to give up the seat and let someone else have a turn. Good thing that there was so much else to see.

By the way, notice his shoes? The day we went to Ricketts Point and he fell into the water I had to clean his shoes as they were absolutely covered in sand and muck. I don’t know what happened, because I cleaned them both exactly the same, but they are no longer the same colour. Very, very strange.

Daddy’s got him in training now.

Just Because

This is the first time in a long time that I did a layout for NO reason at all. Not for a competition, not for the design team… just because.  Because I wanted to.

And I had fun.

Pity I can’t work out how to use GIMP to straighten up the photo.  One day I’ll manage it.

A Few Birthdays

A brand new baby for a friend of mine… Scrapsadaisy. I got mine today. Oh my goodness so yummy. And just what I’ve always been looking for but just didn’t know it. I always look at the bottles of primas and think that I’m never going to use that many flowers of similar colours. This way I get a few of lots of different things.

Just look at the May Lemonade Flower and Ribbon Collections… yum, yum, yum!!!

And Little Scrapbook Shop is celebrating they’re second birthday. There are heaps of great specials and competitions… go on over and check it out!

Finally, it was my birthday a couple of weeks ago and though I didn’t get any pressies at the time I picked up my brand spanking new camera on Saturday, it was SO worth the wait. I am now seeing my life through the viewfinder of a camera. But taking some nice photos while I’m at it. Here’s a few (no enhancing…)

I think some of the members of my family might have had enough of the photo taking already.

Watch out, she’s gone digital

Since The Little Scrapbook Shop has started selling digital elements I thought I’d better see if I can work it out.  I use GIMP and have had so much trouble in the past trying to use it, but I’ve found a great blog, The GIMP 4 Digiscrappers and it seems like I can do a few things now.  I’m sure there is still a whole lot more for me to learn though.  Uh oh, a new hobby!

Here is my first ever attempt at digital scrapbooking.

Elements used are from Shabby Princess Spring Breeze, Bag of Scraps Birthday Goodies and Katie Pertiet.  I don’t think digi scrapping is going to be the next big thing for me.  But I do think it is going to be a good way for me to learn a bit more about The Gimp, because up ’til now it’s been a bit of a hair tearing out program.

Melbourne Zoo

26.04.2007

Usually when I go to the zoo I take a gazillion photos. This time however it didn’t happen. There were several factors responsible for this.

*Cayley wouldn’t settle
*I was grumpy
*This meant Brett was in charge of Elisha and the camera

We did get a few photos of dragons though.

Truth be told, I wasn’t grumpy any more by this stage of the day, I just thought it made for a funny post, and the expression on my face is classic.
